5. GIGN

GIGN, is the elite law enforcement and special operations unit of the French National Gendarmerie. Its missions include counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, surveillance of national threats, protection of government officials, and targeting organized crime.

GIGN was established in 1974 following the Munich massacre. Created initially as a relatively small SWAT unit specialized in sensitive hostage situations, it has since grown into a larger and more diversified force of nearly 400 members, with expanded responsibilities. GIGN shares jurisdiction of French territory with the National Police special-response units.

The unit came into prominence following its successful assault on a hijacked Air France flight at Marseille Marignane airport in December 1994.

4.EKO-Cobra

EKO Cobra, is Austria's primary counter-terrorism special operations tactical unit. It is not part of the Austrian Federal Police but is directly under the control of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior.

On 17 October 1996, four Cobra officers were on board an Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-154 escorting deported prisoners to Lagos when a Nigerian man threatened the cockpit crew with a knife and demanded a diversion to Germany or South Africa. The team overpowered the man and handed him over to the authorities after landing. The officers received a decoration by Russian prime minister Putin.

3.Delta Force

Task Force Green, is an elite Special Mission Unit of the United States Army, under operational control of the Joint Special Operations Command. It is used for hostage rescue and counterterrorism, as well as direct action and reconnaissance against high-value targets.

Most Delta operators come from the United States Army Special Operations Command's elite 75th Ranger Regiment and Special Forces Groups as well as from the special operations units of other branches of the military, though also occasionally from conventional forces.

Delta Force was formed after numerous, well-publicized terrorist incidents in the 1970s. These incidents led the U.S. government to develop a full-time counter-terrorism unit.

2.Alpha Group

Alpha Group, or Alfa, whose official name is Directorate "A" of the FSB Special Purpose Center, is an elite, stand-alone sub-unit of Russia's special forces. It is a dedicated counter-terrorism task force of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which primarily prevents and responds to violent acts in public transportation and buildings. It was created by the Soviet KGB in 1974.

It is also available for extended police duties, for paramilitary operations, and for covert operations, both domestically and internationally.

1.Maroon Beret

The Special Forces Command nicknamed Maroon Berets because of their distinctive service headgear, are a special operations unit of the Turkish Armed Forces made up of volunteers from any branch of Turkish Armed Forces officers after graduating a roughly 4-year training period. The Special Forces is not aligned to any of the three Turkish branches of TAF, receiving its orders directly from the General Staff of the Republic of Turkey. Its forerunner was the Special Warfare Department.

Although the Special Forces is considered a division-level formation, this includes non-combatant units and administrative duties personnel as well.

Special Aviation Group provides helicopter support for command's missions. The helicopters have been modernized and can operate in night/day, integrated and in sync.
